Run over 150 miles and report 9 times or more = really cool prize
Report 9 times or more = cool prize (as supplies last)
If you run and report at least 9 times during the month then there is no issue.
Below is a more detailed description of the rules due to miscreants in the past:
Reports only count if you report them one of the ways above. Writing a mileage report in your personal journal does not count as a report for this contest. Yes, this event is on the honor system. Let your morals be the guide. If you have no morals consider asking someone who has them. You must run at least 1 mile between reports. Decimal miles are not tracked accurately by me. 6.87 miles might be rounded to 7 miles. Dame those Garmens.
Number of posts rules: If you run 150 miles and only report 3 times you will officially have reported 25*3=75 miles. The 150 miles won't be official until you report 6 times.
You must report 9 times during the month to be eligible for any prizes. The reason for this rule is that other people need to see your progress.
Trash Talk If you post into someone else's trash talk area on the web site put your initials after the words. Egging another runner on or challenging someone else with humor is encouraged. Don't insult someone's disabled family member often.
Posting mileage to me (Tim Hood) Phone, email, in person, mail postings. When posting mileage to me give me your name, total miles so far, miles accrued since your last report and number of reports so far and a comment( trash talk) if you like. Sometimes you or I lose track and this helps us make things accurate. If you only use the web site this is not an issue.
SPURS Points You get Spurs points for each mile you run in October. To get maximum points you must report your mileage to me 6 times. Maximum points are 300 plus some bonuses. 150 miles max will be counted and give you 300 SPURS points.
You must report 9 times to be eligible for all prizes. Spurs points=150+your mileage+1st-5th bonus points. What is Mileage The general rule is that mileage counts if you dress to work out and run or walk it counts. Running on a treadmill counts. Record mileage as equivalent road miles.
No roller blading, bicycling, sailing, driving or any other thing that shouldn't logically count. Hiking, walking, running as a workout counts! Challenged athletes can use a equivalent road miles for wheel chairs as they see fit.
These Rules are subject to change at any time by Tim Hood, You have been warned
